1CH First Power-On

Bring the board up in stages. Do not make the first test a body-connected test.

Before Power-On

Check:

  • board matches the intended module release
  • no visible solder bridges or reversed parts
  • connector orientation looks correct
  • battery wiring and polarity are correct
  • test area is isolated from unsafe mains-coupled lab setups

First Bring-Up Goal

Your first goal is simple:

  • the board powers cleanly
  • it does not overheat
  • it remains stable long enough to connect to FreeBCI DAQ

At this stage you are validating the board, not yet validating the biological signal path.

  1. Power the board without electrodes attached
  2. Observe for obvious faults, instability, or heat
  3. Connect USB only as required for the isolated DAQ workflow
  4. Open FreeBCI DAQ and attempt a serial connection
  5. Confirm that the software sees a stable device

When to Stop

Stop and inspect the setup if you see any of these:

  • unstable or repeated disconnects
  • signs of overheating
  • obvious assembly defects
  • behavior inconsistent with the expected module release

Do not proceed to human-connected testing until these issues are resolved.
